This page has web sites---search engines---and links to different sites to go to for information these places I have used and they have helped me... there may be a few new ones added, or suggested by others to me....I hope at least one of these links will help you like they helped me... You are the # 65 person to look at this page This is (above) the web site of the Church of the Latter Day Saits (LDS) it has a very large genealogy library....you can find alot of information and help on this web site...I have used it alot.... This site (above)is kind of a neat site, you search for your familys surname and if you are just begining your search it has a "tool kit" for you to use to get started... They walk you step by step on how to get started in your search for your ancestors....tells you how to find missing relatives, plan a reunion publish your family history and it gives you addresses to hisorical societies too....so it gives you a variety of help and information on one site.... This is a neat little site (above) it caters to children in alot of different areas it has a sit called "genealogy for kids" & fun family projects & another site called "helping your child learn history" and one where you can create a children's book that tells the story of an ancestor.....check it out theres all kinds of info on this site just click on the link above..... This site (above) is a great place it is different from the others...... this site has things like links to volunteer lookup services, list of genealogy abbreviations, lists of old diseases & modern names, native american genealogy links, and a site that helps decipher old time handwriting since it was so different than it is today.... Canadian & French research links are also on this site..... It is really a good site it has alot of good information and alot of different and interesting sites to look at.....I am sure you will find something on this web site that will help you in your search.... FIND A GRAVE (below) The link above is the address to the web site "Find a Grave"...This has alot of different links....Yyou can find pictures of gravestones or find someone to take a picture of a gravestone for you..... & you can even offer to take photos of gravestones for someone else from a cemetery in your area....take a look at it you may find some ones gravestone you are looking for and can't find or find someone to take that photo from that cemetery you may never get to yourself....I have put my name in to take photos for other people and have had a few requests already..... I also put in my name and my cemeteries I would like photos of I already got 1 picture......It is all free --- at least the areas I have checked.... "mycinnamontoast" (above) site is a place you can use to seaarch by surname, region, or religion...and when you search surname thats just what you get, even if the name you are looking for could also be a first name it always comes up as if it were a surname...that way it gives you just what you are looking for -- if you can narrow it down by region it will shorten your list even more, this narrows it down for you so you can more easily find your family....you can even post your own web site on "mycinnamontoast"....click on the link above to get there.... 12-31-05 My other web site http://myhunterfamily.50megs.com is listed on that web site also....i was looking for some info and came across it today... I think you will enjoy this site and maybe you will find a photo of someone you recognize.... Here is another place you can do some searching (above)....like on yahoo or other search places it just gives you a different variety a place to go that maybe you haven't tried before....I even found my web site---"myhunterfamily" on "dogpile" when i was searching for family stuff I also found Blair family information while trying to dig up the Mt. Blair Cemetry list...This is a good place to go to do some new searches just type in what you are looking for in the search bar --click and there you go just start searching.....good luck!!!! This link (above) is to an amazing spot I just found it and I thought I was in heaven.. there are so many links to this link, take a look there are places to look for census reports, check on ancestors form Canada, Ireland, aisia, china, and message surname boards and tons more..... it's called INTERNET RESOURCES...... just click on the link above to get there..... I have used this site (above) alot it has info on cemeteries, U.S. immigration, census reports, and even other Hunter family web sites if this is not your Hunter family ...it will take you to other message boards or ancestry.com, or some of the other genealogy web sites also. like I said I have used this site alot...maybe you will too at least give it a try.. This site (above) has helped out in alot of different ways since it in its self has many links...from here you can link to a surname finder or to the TOP 100 genealogy sites, or a census finder site, vital record search, UK surname look up site, ship lists site--- it has many places you can go to get the help you need for free......so just click on the link and search the pages of this site for the help you may need ---- The link above is to ancestry.com and it is for their message board.....if you type in the surname you are looking for it will help you look for others looking for the same surname, also you can look up alot of other info on this site... The message boards have lead me to alot of people that have either been related or led me to people who could help me find those who are...just leave your message and wait for others to answer... then also check out all the other messages even the old ones....there are other message boards out there that are good also you just have to look them up....this one will help get you started on your journey through the message boards though!!! |
